MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> MARCH 15, 1993 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Proclamation Declaring March 21-27, 1993, as Mediation Week, in Support <br /> of Non-Profit Community Organizations that Work with Citizens to <br /> Resolve Disputes Without Involving the Legal System or Law Enforcement. <br /> The City Clerk accepted the Proclamation on behalf of Kathy Ornelas, <br /> Community Relations Representative. <br /> B. Proclamation Declaring April 1993 as Earthquake Preparedness Month. <br /> Mayor Karp presented the Proclamation to Pat McClellan, Disaster <br /> Preparedness Coordinator. He said Mr. McClellan has done wonderful <br /> work in preparing the community for a disaster. He said this <br /> Proclamation declares April as Earthquake Preparedness Month to <br /> encourage all citizens to enhance their knowledge and awareness of <br /> proper safety measures to follow before and during earthquakes. <br /> Pat McClellan said this Proclamation has been made over the past few <br /> years but is particularly significant in light of the Task Force <br /> recommendations. He said on April 3 San Leandro will host the First <br /> Annual Earthquake Preparedness Fair to educate the public about <br /> earthquake preparedness products, services, and training available in <br /> the community. <br />
