I <br /> MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> APRIL 5, 1993 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> • <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Presentation of Check for $1 ,000 to the City by the Optimist Club of <br /> San Leandro to Help Defray Costs for the Shoreline Run. <br /> Shirley Jimenez, from the Optimist Club of San Leandro, presented a <br /> check for $1 ,000 for the Shoreline Run to be held in June. Mayor Karp <br /> thanked the Club. He said they are some of the best volunteers in the <br /> community and have raised substantial funds that have gone back into <br /> the community. He noted that he and Council Members Perry, Kerr, and <br /> Myers are all members of the Club. <br /> B. Proclamation Declaring April Fair Housing Month. <br /> Mayor Karp read the Proclamation declaring April 1993 Fair Housing <br /> Month and stressed the importance of fair housing to the community. <br /> Audrey Mills from ECHO accepted the Proclamation on behalf of ECHO and <br /> thanked the City Council for making fair housing a priority. <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person. <br /> A. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, asked questions regarding the <br /> March 15 Resolution Authorizing Destruction of Records of the City <br /> Clerk's Office, which approved destruction of Petitions for a Charter <br /> Amendment for Binding Arbitration for San Leandro Fire Fighters and <br /> Peace Officers. He asked if it was possible to get copies of documents <br /> to be destroyed. <br /> The City Clerk said the Petitions are specifically not considered <br /> public records, and both the Elections Code and the Government Code <br /> give the City the authority to dispose of them. She said a blank copy <br /> of the Petition is available. <br />
