' <br /> <br />:1' <br /> <br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council, <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency, San Leandro <br />Public Financing Authority, and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency <br />Joint Meeting - September 18, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 17 <br /> <br />The Mayor concluded by stating that last year there was a new community awards <br />procedure for San Leandro that began with the Mayor's Award of Excellence. <br />She feels perhaps there could be an award given to someone in each District - <br />perhaps a "Council District Leadership Award." She suggested the balance of the <br />City Council give some consideration to an awards program in their District and <br />that perhaps these persons could be recognized at the Holiday Boards and <br />Commission's Event in December. <br /> <br />11. CONTINUED PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Continued Public Comments is limited to the balance of speaker cards that have been <br />submitted to the City Clerk and any new speakers who have not been heard, <br />Comments will be limited to 5 minutes per speaker. <br /> <br />A. Paul Vargas, 872 Portola, addressed the City Council regarding Item 8.F on the <br />Consent Calendar - the Halcyon Park Restroom Replacement - and stated he <br />hoped it would be a reasonable amount and not $400,000. <br /> <br />B. Mike Katz, 46 Estabrook Street, addressed the City Council in opposition to the <br />use of Eminent Domain to take control of business property. <br /> <br />C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />inequity of how public participation was handled regarding the hotel on Lewelling; <br />and that the City's budget should be made easier to understand. <br /> <br />12. ADJOURN <br /> <br />The City Council adjourned its meeting at 9:32 p.m.: <br /> <br />In Memory of Lorraine J.
