<br />MINUTES Page 4 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Redevelopment Agency and San Leandro Economic Development <br />Agency Joint Meeting-February 7, 2005 <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person. When you address the City Council, you <br />should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be <br />determined and an official record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to <br />make comments on items of public interest NOT listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Doug Siden, Ward 4 Director for the East Bay Regional Parks District, addressed the <br />City Council, commending the Council for taking a stand in opposition to the Koi Nation <br />Indian Casino in Oakland, which is proposed to be built directly adjacent to the Martin Luther <br />King, Jr. Shoreline Park. Mr. Siden commented on the detrimental effects that the proposed <br />casino would have on the Park. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, stating that he has been <br />advised by counsel not to make the comments he has been waiting to make. Mr. Filipovich <br />commented on a discussion between Mayor Young and Alameda County Supervisor Alice <br />Lai-Bitker. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding the height of the <br />sound wall at Westgate Parkway and issues with manhole covers and potholes on Warden <br />Avenue. Mr. Perez expressed support for the proposed Koi Nation Indian Casino in Oakland. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis commented that the winter season has been hard on the City's roads, <br />and the Public Works staff will be performing major street repair work as the weather <br />Improves. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmembers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request, by filing a speaker card prior to the <br />calling of Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar, the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent <br />Calendar will be considered for approval under one motion. <br /> <br />Public Comments on the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that the <br />minutes of City Council meetings are not informative to the public and do not make sense <br />because they are not verbatim. <br /> <br />End of Public Comments <br />
