Professional Certification <br /> <br />Employees working in a full-time permanent position who are regularly assigned to the <br />Water Pollution Control Plant shall be reimbursed for obtaining or renewing job-required <br />certifi cates. <br /> <br />F or those eligible and required employees, the City agrees to continue to pay for the cost of <br />getting and maintaining a pesticidelherbicide application certificate. <br /> <br />The City shall reimburse, permanent full-time Traffic Operations and Associate and <br />Assistant Engineers in the Engineering and Transportation Department, for the cost of <br />obtaining and/or renewing job required certificates while employed by the City. <br /> <br />The City agrees to pay the cost of written and medical examinations for those employees <br />who are required to obtain and maintain a Class B Driver's License. <br /> <br />Section 39. Standby Pay <br /> <br />A. Public Works Employees <br /> <br />Employees assigned to the water pollution control plant who are required to standby <br />from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. shall be paid at the rate of one (1) hour straight time based <br />on the employee's regular hourly rate. The employee may elect to take compensatory <br />time off in an amount equal to one (1) hours straight time in lieu of pay. Such <br />assignments typically will be made on a Saturday, Sunday and/or holiday. Employee's <br />assigned to standby from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. shall be paid at the rate of two (2) hours of <br />straight time based on the employee's regular hourly rate. The employee may elect to <br />take compensatory time off in an amount equal to two (2) hours straight time in lieu of <br />pay. Such assignments shall typically be made on a Saturday, Sunday and/or holiday. <br /> <br />Employees assigned to the public works services department - electrical section, who <br />are required to standby from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday shall <br />receive, for each period of standby, one (1) hour of straight time pay based on the <br />employee's regular hourly rate of pay. Employee's shall receive two (2) hours of <br />straight time pay for each Saturday, Sunday, and holiday of required standby. <br /> <br />B. Police Civilian Employees <br /> <br />For required callout or court appearance on a normal work day, a minimum of two (2) <br />hours pay at the overtime rate will be paid for the first such call out or court <br />appearance, provided, however that court appearances immediately before or after <br />schedule duty hours shall be deemed an extension of the shift and the two (2) hour <br />minimum shall not apply. For required call out or authorized work related appearance <br />on a normal day off, a minimum four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate will be paid for <br />each of the first two (2) such call outs, provided, however, that a callout on a normal <br />day off immediately before or after scheduled duty hours shall be deemed an extension <br />of the shift and the four (4) hour minimum shall not apply.
