Mr. Hollister reviewed the resolutions recommended for adoption <br />by the Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos commented regarding a resident of Neptune Drive whose <br />property is covered with debris from the storms. Mr. Jermanis indicated that the City is <br />including this resident's property as part of the overall storm damage to the shoreline <br />and is assisting the property owner in getting the property cleaned up. <br /> <br />Concern was expressed by members of the Council regarding the reopening of the Bay <br />Trail before the next high tide. It was the consensus of the Council to delay the <br />reopening ofthe trail until after the next high tide at the end of January. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented on an email received by the Council from a resident who was <br />concerned that funding for the local emergency would take funds away from other areas <br />in the country which have more serious needs. Mr. Jermanis indicated that any FEMA <br />funds received by the City would not take away from other areas. He noted that it is <br />viewed as a role of State and federal governments to assist local governments in these <br />emergency situations. Additionally, the City would be remiss if it did not apply for <br />funding, particularly since it does not have the money to perform the repairs. <br /> <br />. The public is invited to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items <br />of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />Heidi Finberg, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council m support of the <br />Council's action. <br /> <br />Darlene Evans, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that the <br />reopening of the Bay Trail should be delayed until March. <br /> <br />Lou Filpovich, San Leandro resident, commented on the history ofthe trail. <br />
