<br />MINUTES Page 6 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-February 21, 2006 <br /> <br />13. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Badger complimented Mayor Young on the State of the City presentation. He <br />noted the February 6 City Council meeting minutes should have reflected that the meeting <br />was adjourned in memory of Bob Jardin. Vice Mayor Badger requested that tonight's <br />meeting be adjourned in memory of Coretta Scott King, widow of the late Dr. Martin Luther <br />King, Jr. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak conunended City Manager Jermanis and Police Chief Kitchen for <br />the recent Council work session on conununity preservation, noting that the subject is of great <br />interest to the conununity. She expressed concern that some residents who have been <br />reported by their neighbors for compliance issues have angrily confronted those neighbors. <br />Councilmember Starosciak suggested that if the City were more proactive, it would ease the <br />burden on its citizens. <br /> <br />Councilmember Stephens expressed agreement with Councilmember Starosciak's comments <br />regarding the need for rigorous enforcement of conununity standards. <br /> <br />14.
