<br />MINUTES Page 13 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-March 6, 2006 <br /> <br />C. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Disaster Council Meeting of February 16, 2006. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />2. Facilities Committee Meeting of February 22, 2006. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br />a. The Committee recommends that the City Council schedule consideration of <br />a joint agreement between the City and the San Lorenzo Unified School <br />District for construction and use of gym. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos commented on the trash that collects on the CalTrans property on <br />Timothy Drive. He stated that he would like to see CalTrans do more frequent cleanup ofthat <br />property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented on the memo from the City Manager regarding the <br />addition of San Leandro to the list of cities supporting the League of California Cities' <br />position on telecommunication issues before Congress. Councilmember Starosciak reported <br />that she received an emailed pamphlet from Consumers for Cable Choice. The group has a <br />bill which has been introduced in the State Legislature, AB 2987, which would impact all <br />cities in California. She asked that the City Attorney track the progress of this bill. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Badger conveyed a request from Mayor Young to adjourn tonight's meeting in <br />memory of Eveline Shields, who was the mother of Sheila Cook, Director of the San Leandro <br />Surgery Center. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Badger also announced the adjournment of tonight's meeting in memory Brian <br />Champaco, the son of his close personal friend. <br /> <br />13. ADJOURN <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:31 p.m. <br />· In memory of Eveline Shields. <br />· In memory of Brian Champaco. <br />
