The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Vicky Roy, 1085 MacArthur Boulevard, addressed the City Council regarding the median <br />construction on MacArthur Boulevard. Ms. Roy stated that the median blocks access by <br />delivery trucks to Lucchesi's driveways, and the business cannot operate without its <br />deliveries. <br /> <br />Victor Lucchesi, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council regarding the difficulties <br />experienced by businesses on MacArthur due to the median construction. <br /> <br />Bryan Lucchesi, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council regarding the loss of <br />customers by the businesses on MacArthur Boulevard due to construction of the median, loss <br />of parking spaces, and the additional distance vehicles must travel on westbound MacArthur <br />Boulevard to get around the median to access the businesses. <br /> <br />Diana Lucchesi Lunge, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council, stating that the <br />median construction has taken a toll on her family and the businesses on MacArthur <br />Boulevard. Ms. Lunge commented that customers must drive all the way to Federighi's to <br />turn around, and large trucks are unable to enter the driveway of the business to make <br />deliveries. <br /> <br />Dan Henriques, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding hate, violence <br />and mental illness in San Leandro. He provided the Council with copies of his flyer and <br />urged them to read it. <br /> <br />Cynthia Lunge, Lucchesi Art Studio, addressed the City Council regarding. the many <br />businesses negatively affected by the blockage of their driveways by the median on <br />MacArthur. <br /> <br />Samuel Zhang, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding human rights <br />violations by the Chinese government of Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Zhang provided <br />documents to the Council which described secret concentration camps in China where <br />thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are being held and tortured. He requested the Council <br />protest these actions. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing his <br />opposition to raised medians. He read from a document regarding ex parte communication <br />and the duty of members of a decision-making body to make their statements part of the <br />public record. <br /> <br />Joel Ng, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding the persecution of <br />Falun Gong practitioners in China. Mr. Ng commented that organs are harvested from live <br />Falun Gong practitioners and their bodies are then incinerated. Mr. Ng stated that Falun <br />Gong is considered a threat to the Chinese Communist Party due to its large following. <br />
