<br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-025 <br /> <br />(2217) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION OF <br />CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT FUNDS <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,820 FOR THE INCREASED ENFORCEMENT OF <br />SEAT BELT VIOLATIONS DURING THE "CLICK IT OR TICKET" CAMPAIGN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department recognizes the importance of an effective program to <br /> <br />decrease the number of injury accidents within our community; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department seeks to raise awareness about the importance of seat <br /> <br />belt use; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department desires to utilize grant funds in the amount of $6,820 <br /> <br />from the California Office of Traffic Safety for the enforcement of seat belt violations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />That the Police Department be authorized to utilize funds from the California Office of <br /> <br />Traffic Safety in the amount of $6,820 to increase enforcement of seat belt violations during the <br /> <br />"Click It or Ticket" Campaign. <br /> <br />Introduced by Councilmember Badger and passed and adopted this 20th day of March, 2006 <br /> <br />by the following called vote: <br /> <br />Members ofthe Council: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Badger, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Young (7) <br /> <br />NOES: None (0) <br /> <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
