The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest <br />NOT <br /> listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, <br /> addressed the City Council, commenting on the <br />amendments to the ordinance relating to citations and notices of violation, street repairs and <br />necessary services, and the requirement for a 3-1/2 acre park or playground for every 1,000 <br />housing units built in the City. <br /> <br /> <br /> 6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis responded to Mr. Perez’s comments, noting the changes to the <br />ordinance were made to expedite the violation process and aid enforcement. He noted that <br />additional changes will be made to the ordinance to address various problems and provide <br />additional strengthening. <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis commented that if a housing developer cannot provide a park, then it must pay <br />park-in-lieu fees, which are deposited into a fund that can be used to construct a new park <br />or improve an existing park. He noted that it is difficult for the City to find space to build <br />parks for small infill housing projects. <br /> <br />Ms. Williams reported on the Ethics Training held on October 30 at the San Leandro Main <br />Library for the City Council and Boards and Commissions.
