Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />C. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Airport Committee Meeting of May 5, 2006. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />2. Facilities Committee Meeting of May 24,2006. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br />a. The Committee recommends a six-month trial period for the proposed San <br />Leandro Boulevard/Castro Street Intersection Improvements. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Badger requested tonight's meeting be adjourned in memory of Sam <br />Freccero, Sr., a San Leandro resident and owner of an Oakland wholesale produce company <br />that did a lot of business in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine requested tonight's meeting be adjourned in memory of Lois <br />McDonald, with whom she served on the San Leandro School District Board of Trustees for <br />several years. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant noted that Mayor Young also requested the meeting's adjournment in <br />memory of Lois McDonald. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant commented that the City was recently honored by Building Futures with <br />Women and Children. Vice Mayor Grant reported that, on behalf of Mayor Young, she <br />presented Virginia Rose Niles a commendation on the celebration of her 70th birthday. She <br />noted that Ms. Niles' father was the first African American member of the Oakland City <br />Council. <br /> <br />13. ADJOURN <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10: 16 p.m. <br />.
