<br />MINUTES <br />City of San Leandro City Council Special Meeting-July 31,2006 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />M/S/C Santos and Badger. Ayes: 5; Noes: 0; Absent: 2 (Nardine and <br />Stephens) <br /> <br />B. Resolution No. 2006-098, Resolution Rejecting Bids for Doolittle Drive Entryway <br />hnprovements, Phase 2, Project No. 230-43-155 (rejects all bids received on July 24, <br />2006). (3087) <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos expressed concern regarding the division of costs of the project <br />between the City of San Leandro, the City of Oakland and the Port of Oakland. City <br />Manager Jennanis indicated that the City could consider requesting an additional <br />contribution from the Port of Oakland. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant inquired about consideration of the use of native plants in the <br />landscaping and about a local preference added to the Purchasing Ordinance to <br />encourage purchasing from San Leandro businesses when the project is re-bid. Mr. <br />Jermanis indicated that staff will look into these possibilities. <br /> <br />City Engineer Ken Joseph stated the re-bid would occur in late 2006 or early 2007. <br /> <br />M/S/C Santos and Badger. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Stephanie Stuart reported that the City Council met in closed <br />session earlier this evening in the matter of Waltman v. City of San Leandro, Workers <br />Compensation Appeals Board. The Council, by a vote of 4-0, authorized staff to settle <br />the claim in the matter. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />4. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />None. <br />
