<br />MINUTES Page 4 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-October 2, 2006 <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmembers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar by filling out a speaker card and <br />submitting it to the City Clerk prior to the calling of Item 7, Amendment of Consent <br />Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent Calendar will be considered for approval under <br />one motion. <br /> <br />Public Comments on Item 8.D.: <br /> <br />Torn Blinn, San Leandro Historical Railway Society, addressed the City Council regarding <br />renewal of the Society's lease agreement with the City. He commented on the positive <br />relationship between the City and the Society. Mr. Blinn stated that over the past 18 years, <br />the Society has exceeded the number of hours it had committed to remaining open to the <br />public; provided 64,000 hours of volunteer labor to maintain the facility and keep it open to <br />the community; raised over $80,000 to support its activities; maintained a model railroad <br />display of the Southern Pacific from Alameda to the Sierras; and made presentations to over <br />21,000 students in the San Leandro/San Lorenzo area on rail safety. Mr. Blinn commented on <br />the importance of the new lease, as repairs such as a new roof on the depot must be made. <br /> <br />End of Public Comments on Item 8.D. <br /> <br />No amendment to Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />8. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are considered for approval by the City Council with one single <br />action. As described above in Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar, the City Council <br />may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of presentation or discussion. <br />Members of the public who have requested to address the Council regarding items remaining <br />on the Consent Calendar may do so for up to 3 minutes per item with a maximum of 5 <br />minutes for all items. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by <br />title. <br /> <br />The items on the Consent Calendar were approved by the following vote: <br /> <br />M/S/C Badger and Grant. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: 1 (Nardine) <br /> <br />A. Minutes of the Meeting of September 18,2006. Approved as submitted. <br /> <br />B. Resolution No. 2006-111, Resolution Accepting the Work for Heron Bay Trail <br />Frontage Landscape Renovation, Phase 2, Project No. 147-42-144 (provides for <br />acceptance of work from Oracle Landscape, filing of Notice of Completion, and release <br />of bonds).
