<br />Gap Grant Program Application <br />Cycle #3 (06/07 - 07/08) <br /> <br />Page 2 of 26 <br /> <br />PART 1: BASIC PROJECT INFORMATION <br /> <br />Project Name: San Leandro Ride-Today! <br /> <br />Agency Name: City of San Leandro <br /> <br />Brief Project Description: (Description only - not benefits. 3-4 sentences.) <br /> <br />The San Leandro Ride-Today! pilot project is a same-day/demand-response <br />paratransit service designed to address a significant service gap identified in ACTIAls <br />2003 Alameda County Service Gap Assessment. This same-day service model <br />(utilizing both sedans and lift-equipped vans) is presented as an alternative to the <br />"taxi-based" model proposed for Southern Alameda County. Evaluation criterion will <br />be coordinated between the two service models so that the efficeiency and <br />effectiveness of both can be compared. The San Leandro Ride- Today! project is <br />separate from, but coordinated with, the Hayward Ride- Today! project (based on the <br />same "non-taxi" service model) so that Central Alameda County paratransit riders will <br />have access to same-day paratransit services. <br /> <br />General Location: (Area Served) <br /> <br />San Leandro Ride-Today! will serve the residents of San Leandro. Hayward Ride Today <br />will serve Hayward and the adjacent unicorporated areas of Alameda County.
