<br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-050 <br /> <br />(1092/1177) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FOR PAYING AND REPORTING THE VALUE OF <br />EMPLOYER-P AID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS WITH TIME-IN-GRADE EXCEPTION <br />FOR EMPLOYEES IN THE SAN LEANDRO CITY EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro has elected to pay and report <br /> <br />the value of all or a part ofthe normal member contributions to the California Public Employees' <br /> <br />Retirement System (CalPERS) pursuant to Government Code Sections 20636 (c)(4) and 20691, <br /> <br />and applicable labor policies or agreements; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro may elect a time-in-grade <br /> <br />exception to said Employer-paid Member Contributions (EPMC) within a given group or class of <br /> <br />employees as defined in Government Code Section 20636 (e)(I) and as specifically authorized in <br /> <br />Title 2, California Code of Regulations Amended Section 571; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro has identified the following <br /> <br />condition for the application of said Exception: <br /> <br />This time-in-grade exception shall apply to all employees ofthe San Leandro City <br /> <br />Employees' Association (SLCEA) hired after May 15,2006; <br /> <br />The City of San Leandro elects to pay 100% for all current SLCEA employees. <br /> <br />For employees hired after May 15, 2006, the City of San Leandro will, pursuant <br /> <br />to Title 2, California Code of Regulations Amended Section 571, pay and report the value <br /> <br />ofEPMC according to the following time-in-grade schedule: <br /> <br />Year one, or for employees hired with less than 12 full months' prior <br /> <br />CalPERS agency experience, at 25 percent; <br /> <br />Year two, or for employees hired with 12 to 24 full months' prior <br /> <br />CalPERS agency experience, at 50 percent; <br />
