<br />MINUTI<:S Pagc 12 <br />City or San I ,~~n~~ro City Council. and San Leandro Rcdevelopmcnt AgencyJoint Specia~ Mccting --~pril 12,2004 <br /> <br />Mr. Jem1anis indicated that staff understands the issues raised by Mr. Filipovich wilh regard <br />to fees. lIe staled that the Council has the authority to set fees lor City services and that taxes <br />must be approved by voters. <br /> <br />Mr. Jennanis emphasized that ice cream cart vendors must be licensed to do business in San <br />Leandro as well as have a peddlers permit and clearance from the Alameda County Health <br />Departm ent. <br /> <br />The City Council recessed from 9:30 to 9:45 p.m. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmembers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed lr01n the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request, by filing a speaker card prior to the <br />calling of Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar, the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent <br />Calendar will be considered lnr approval under one motion. <br /> <br />Public Comment on Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, t 5376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding Item 8.AA. and <br />the Real Property Transfer Tax, expressing concem that the matter should be taken to the <br />voters. <br /> <br />Consent Calendar was amended to remove Items 8.A. and 8.F. Items will be considered <br />undcr Item 9. Items Removed from Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />8. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items arc considered for approval by the City Council with one single <br />action. As described above in Item 7, Alnendment of Consent Calendar, the City Council <br />may remove items fi"om the Consent Calendar Inr purposes of presentation or discLlssion. <br />Melnbers of the public who have requested to address the Council regarding items remaining <br />on the Consent Calendar may do so for up to 3 minutes each to a maximum of 5 minutes for <br />all itCtllS. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> <br />Items 8.A. and 8.F. were removed from the Conscnt Calendar to Item 9. Hems Removed <br />from Consent Calendar. The remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved <br />by thc following vote: <br /> <br />M/S/C Santos and Stephens. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />
