MINUTES Page 10 City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Economic Development Agency, and San Leandro Hillside Geologic Hazard Abatement District Joint Meeting -July 19, 2004 Mayor Young asked if the assistance to first time homebuyers is included in this program. Ms. Brown stated that it is not. She indicated that this is only one of many programs for increasing affordability and home ownership. Mayor Young asked if anything in the decisions at this meeting precludes the Council from continuing to work on strengthening the City's policies around affordable housing. Ms. Brown replied that there is nothing which prevents the Council from doing so. Mayor Young suggested that the City Council can continue to work on strengthening the City's affordable housing policies and programs through its committees. She asked which Council committee would be the appropriate forum for this topic. Councilmember Grant noted that a large percentage of the Business Development Committee agenda is devoted to housing matters. She thanked staff for keeping the Council well-informed on housing issues. Mayor Young thanked Councilmembers Grant and Santos and Vice Mayor Badger for their attendance and participation at the COR meeting. Counciln1ember Grant requested that staff provide the clarification on the percentage range in the inclusionary zoning requirements for other cities when the item comes back to Council. .
