<br />l\nNUTES Page 14 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-September 7,2004 <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos announced that the Alameda County Commission on Aging Health <br />and Wellness Faire will be held this Thursday at Centennial Hall in Hayward. He expressed <br />interest in seeing the various city health faires combined with the County Health and Wellness <br />F aire. <br /> <br />Councilnle111ber Santos commented that City staff has been working for the past year with the <br />residents of Walnut Drive. A letter was sent to residents, and the majority are interested in <br />participating in the street improvements. It was the consensus of the Council to bring forward <br />for consideration a resolution of intention to move the Walnut Drive street improvement <br />proj ect forward. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos commented that \vhile at the post office on Abrams Court, he was <br />given a plaque for service to the U.S. Postal Service which was issued to him three years ago. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the following presentations made since the last regular City Council <br />Meeting: <br />. A contribution was made from the Mayor's Community Fund to Community Resources <br />for Independent Living. <br />. A contribution was made from the Mayor's Community Fund to Project Literacy for the <br />City Council's Trivia Bee team. <br />. A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Ollie Becker for his dedicated service to <br />the Monarch Bay Golf Club. <br />. A Celiificate of Recognition was presented to Robert O. Colbert on the occasion of his <br />65t11 birthday and for his dedicated service to the United States military. <br />. A Proclamation was presented declaring September 17-23, 2004 as "United States <br />Constitution Week" in the City of San Leandro. <br />. A Proclamation was presented declaring August 17, 2004 as "Horatio's Day" in San <br />Leandro in honor of the restaurant's 25th Anniversary. <br />. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Rose K. Burnham on the occasion of her <br />1 ooth birthday. <br />. A COl1lmendation was presented to William Matthew Brooks upon the occasion of the <br />completion of the world speed record circumnavigation of the earth. <br />. A contribution was made from the Mayor's Community Fund to the San Leandro High <br />School Pirate Wrestling Club for its national competition in Idaho. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced an Ozone Strategy and Care Program Community Meeting in <br />Oakland on September 30. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented that the adoption of the Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance is being <br />delayed in order for some minor technical modifications to be made to make the ordinance <br />l1lore efficient and comprehensible. She asked that the ordinance be referred back to the <br />Business Development Committee. Mayor Young suggested that one or two local developers <br />be invited to sit in on the discussion to provide input. <br /> <br />Councilmenlber Grant inquired when the ordinance would return to Council if referred to the <br />Business Development Committee. She expressed concern that there are projects to which <br />
