<br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-095 <br /> <br />(11 72) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A PIERCE FIRE APPARATUS <br />QUANTUM PUMPER TRUCK FROM A SOLE SOURCE VENDOR WITHOUT COMPETITIVE <br />BIDDING BY PIGGYBACKING ON ALAMEDA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT'S <br />PURCHASE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-305 of the San Leandro Municipal Code allows the City to procure <br />equipll1ent without bidding by means of cooperative purchases with other governn1enta1 agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-315 of the San Leandro Municipal Code allows purchases of <br />equipll1ent, n1atelials or supplies to be n1ade without competitive bidding if detenl1ined by the Council <br />to be necessary to serve the best interests of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, through a cooperative purchase with the Alan1eda County Fire Departll1ent of a <br />Pierce fire apparatus quantum pumper truck, the City can realize significant till1e and cost savings. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br /> <br />The purchase of a new Pierce fire apparatus without con1petitive bidding by piggybacking on <br />the tel111S and conditions of a purchase 111ade by the Almneda County Fire Department is hereby <br />authorized. <br /> <br />Introduced by Counciln1en1ber Santos and passed and adopted this 1 ih day of July, 2006, by <br />the following called vote: <br /> <br />Members of the Council: <br /> <br />AYES: Councihl1embers Badger, Grant, Santos, Stephens; Mayor Young <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />NOES: Counciln1en1ber Starosciak <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Counciln1en1ber Nardine <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /><-lVlMj~ ~ <br /> <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
