<br />Priority # 2. Preserve existing affordable rental and ownership housing, for <br />low- and moderate-income households. <br /> <br />A~1ivitics: <br />. Apartment Rehabilitation Program <br />. The City continues to track inquiries for its apartment rehabilitation program, but there <br />have been no projects funded. <br /> <br />. Housing Rehabilitation Program <br />. The I lousing Rehabilitation Program provides rehabilitation loans up to $35,000 for <br />single-family houses. This program provided seven loans, using Redevelopment Housing <br />Set Aside Funds. Two of these were for mobile home rehabilitation loans. Of these seven <br />loans, five were for seniors, three were for extremely low-income, one for very low- <br />income, and three for low-income households. <br /> <br />. The Housing Rehabilitation Program, which also has six types of grant programs for <br />Ininor home repairs, provided 22 granK using Redevelopment Housing Set Aside Funds, <br />for lower-income home owners. Of these 22 grants, 16 were for sen iors, four were for <br />extremely low-income and 18 for very low-inconle households. The breakdown for the <br />types of services is: <br />. 4 Accessibility grants <br />. I exterior clean-up grant <br />· 3 Exterior paint grants <br />. II Minor home repair grants <br />. 3 Mobile home repair grants <br /> <br />. Section 8 Program <br />. The City supports the maintenance of the I lousing Authority of Alameda County's <br />(IIACA) program for Section 8 rental assistance vouchers and certificates that can be <br />used f~lr San Leandro residents. HAC^ provided 1,288 Section 8 vouchers and Shelter <br />Plus Care certificates for rental assistance in San I,eandro, an increase of 96 <br />vouchers/certificates (8%) being used in our City since July 2005. <br /> <br />Priority # 3. Assist low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers. <br /> <br />Activities: <br /> <br />. Mortgage Credit Certificate Program <br />. The City participates in the Alameda County Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC) <br />Program and provides pro-rated administrative funding for the program.
