Staff is working with a liaison to <br />set up appointments with various federal agencies. Councilmembers discussed several <br />topics of interest including locating funding Jor the Clean and Green program, health and <br />safcty issues, HUD's proposed cuts to County housing funds, Homeland Security grants <br />for First Responders, cxpansion ot'the emergency aler1ing system through FEMA, chaJUlcl <br />dredging and tlood control. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant distJibuted to Council a memo from Ophelia Basgal of the <br />Housing Authority which mentioned a possihle Statc takeover of the administration of <br />Section 8 housing. <br />
