CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; Mayor <br />Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the following presentations were made since the last regular City <br />Council meeting: <br />. A congratulatory letter was sent to Deputy Fire Chief Mark Blanchard upon his <br />retirement. <br />. The Mayor and Council made a contribution from the Mayor's Community Fund to <br />Angela Gonzalez, an Arts Council scholarship award winner. <br />. A proclamation was issued declaring the week of Sept 17-23 as United States <br />Constitution Week in San Leandro. <br /> <br />A. Recognition of the Employee of the Month for the month of September 2003, <br />Mark Goralka, Associate Engineer, Engineering and Transportation. <br /> <br />Mark Goralka was present to receive his award. <br />
