The public is invited to <br />nlake comments on items of public interest NOT listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Candice Knight, All Saints Episcopal Church, addressed the City Council, inviting the <br />Council and audience to an upcoming fundraiser on November 5, 2003. The program, <br />entitled, "Life Design with Feng Shui," will benefit the Chabot College Foundation, All <br />Saints Outreach Programs and the San Leandro Boys & Girls Club. <br /> <br />Lou FiIipovich, 15376 LaVerne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />deregulation of rates, stating there is no cost justification for rates. Mr. Filipovich commented <br />that the City Council should listen to the public and encourage more public participation. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Council Members or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request, by filing a speaker card prior to the <br />calling of Item 7. Amendment of Consent Calendar, the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent <br />Calendar will be considered for approval under one motion. <br /> <br />Consent Calendar was amended to remove Item S.A. Item will be considered under <br />Item 9. Items Removed from Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />S. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are considered for approval by the City Council with one single <br />action. As described above in #7, Anlendment of Consent Calendar, the City Council may <br />remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of presentation or discussion. <br />Members of the public who have requested to address the Council regarding items remaining <br />on the Consent Calendar may do so for up to 3 minutes each to a maximum of 5 minutes for <br />all items. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> <br />Councilnlember Grant expressed appreciation for the stop signs at 139th and 141 st Avenues <br />(Item 8.G.). She conveyed a concern by her neighbors who still have grave concerns about <br />the traffic conditions at 150th and Lark. The neighbors were told that traffic conditions do not <br />warrant additional traffic control devices. However, it has been brought to her attention <br />repeatedly that traffic conditions are hazardous for pedestrians and there have been several <br />"near Inisses" at the intersection. Mr. J ermanis stated he will ask Engineering and <br />Transportation Director Udemezue to re-examine the situation at this intersection. <br />
