<br />. , <br /> <br />Minutes .- City of San Leandro City Council, <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency, <br />San Leandro Housing Finance Corporation, <br />San Leandro Parking Authority, <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority, and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - .Iunc 17,2002 <br /> <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />Council Member Santos also commented on information provided in the budget <br />regarding costs for Tort Defense. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze commented on the Economic Development Plan proposed by the <br />City Manager in the budget and requested a review orthe program in six months. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine requested a Work Session for the City Council regarding <br />Business Development in the very near future. <br /> <br />Council Member Santos referenced a letter received from Hattie Jones, Executive <br />Director of Community Adult Day Care Center at St. Peter's, asking the City for <br />funding for their services to low-income seniors in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Hattie Jones, 290 Broadmoor Blvd., addressed the City Council explaining their <br />dilemma in greater detail and asked the City Council to consider funding their <br />program, even though they were late in submitting their request to the Human <br />Resources Commission through the nonnal process. <br /> <br />Council Member Loemer confirmed with staff that the Community Benefit <br />Funding Program is a two-year program, but proposed amending the budget to <br />accommodate this request. <br /> <br />Council Member Grant suggested perhaps that 8t. Peters Community Adult Care <br />Center reapply for funding during the (wo~year budget/funding cycle. <br /> <br />Council Member Badger commented on the need to be prompt in submitting <br />paperwork, as there are procedures that must be met and followed (0 be considered <br />for funding through this process. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine agreed with the necessity to submit on time. <br /> <br />Publie Comment: <br /> <br />Charles Gilcrest, 1271 Terra Ave., addressed the City Council as a resident and <br />not as a Human Resources ConU11issioner. He provided an explanation or the <br />process and encouraged the City Council to have the Commission review and make <br />a recommendation regarding this request. He stressed the rules of applying for <br />these funds are necessary. As the Chair or the Joint Project Area Redevelopment <br />Advisory Committee he stated his support for the monies set aside to expand San <br />Leandro's Clean and Green Program into the Downtown Program. <br /> <br />The following Resolutions were then introduced: <br />
