<br />Minutes - City o[San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />July 1,2002 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Cothcna Brown, 2233 Belvedere Ave., addressed the City Council regarding large <br />trucks on hcr street and suggested businesses in that area be relocated to an area better <br />suited [or large trucks. <br /> <br />Jill Alarcon, 22567 Filbert St., Hayward, addressed the City Council requesting a <br />response to a letter sent by Praise Chapel Christian Fellowship regarding the possible <br />purchase and use of property located at 2145 Marina Blvd. <br /> <br />Cha.-Ies Tc......ino, 698 Arbor, addressed the City Council regarding the need for <br />repaving Arhor and Oaks Streets. <br /> <br />Nick Caparelli, 1959 Wallace, addressed thc City Council regarding his frustration <br />with having to continuously make calls to the Police Department regarding gunfire in <br />his neighborhood, kids doing "donuts" in the street with their cars, vandalism, and other <br />vanous Issues. <br /> <br />Audrey Lindahl, 769 Donovan, addressed the City Council on behalf of the Eastshore <br />Housing Association expressing interest in purchasing property at 1300-1370 Davis <br />Street. She expressed the Association's desire to use the property for an urban garden, <br />daycare Hteility, or possibly a park. <br /> <br />Wafaa Aborashcd, 172 Tudor Ave., addressed the City Council regarding concerns <br />for the Walter Hirt family who are experiencing random acts of vandalism to their <br />property. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Dr., addressed the City Council regarding the sewer <br />service charges, stating he [eels it is a tax and how the money is spent should require a <br />2/3nJ-voter approval. He suggested returning funds to senior citizens in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Francois Gallo, representing NAACSL, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />proposed insulation program for San Leandro, stressing thc need to have a program for <br />the schools as well. He indicated the School District should be required to sign an <br />easement with the Port of Oakland to get such a program. With regard to South Field <br />issues, he suggested ianning a South Ficici Study Group. He commented on the "hush <br />house" completed by the POJ1 of Oakland and indicated members of the community feel <br />the "run-up" noise is unacceptable. In conclusion, he questioned when the GP AC <br />would be considering a noise ordinance. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Ct., addressed the City Council regarding community <br />compliance issues in his neighborhood. <br />
