PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. When you address the City <br />Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of <br />speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses obtained. <br /> <br />A. Matter of PLN2002-00031; Rezone from IG IJ1(lusttial General district to IG-PD <br />Industrial General-Planned Development Overlay district; Planned Development, Master <br />Sign Prof,JTam, Mitigated Negative Declaration, and Tentative Map, Tract 7382; to <br />construct a proposed new industrial business park on an approximately 2 I -acre site <br />proposed to be subdivided into nine parcels ranging in size from 0.98 acre to 6.58 acres <br />(former Hohener property); located at 2500 Davis Street; Assessor's Parcel Number 79A- <br />515-2-8; Hayside Partners BeLP, and McMahon Development Group LLC, Applicant, <br />Developer, and Property Owner. <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Heating on the above matter, City Manager <br />John Jem1anis introduced the project area and described the proposed industrial park, <br />referred to as Bayside Business Park, located at 2500 Davis Street. Senior Planner Dcbbie <br />Pollart provided a detailed project desetiption. Senior Engineer Keith Cooke repo11ed on <br />the street and traffic issues. Russell Pierce from McMahon Development Group <br />introduced the development firm, discussed the project, and thanked the Mayor and the <br />City Council for their consideration. City Council Members opened the discussion for <br />c1ati fication questions. <br /> <br />City Council Membcrs rcquested information related to the traffic mitigation contribution <br />amount, the history of and relationship between clevelopment projects and street <br />improvements, an explanation of the current grading and demolition activities on the site, <br />environmental analysis and seismic activity, and the hydraulic calculations provided in the <br />report. <br /> <br />The Healing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Al Padro, 325 Regier Ave., addressed the City Council regarding the demolition and <br />grading activity on the site and traffic issues. <br /> <br />Clare Brunk, 726 Arguello Dr., addressed the City Council in opposition to Fed Ex as a <br />tenant at the site and suggested a meeting occur between Fed Ex and the citizens. <br /> <br />Heidi Finberg, CEO of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, addressed the City <br />Council in support ofthe project. <br /> <br />Dennis Rosucci, Marina Community Association, addressed the City Council III <br />opposition to the project, specifically Fcd Ex and traffic related issues. <br />
