Vice Mayor Glaze eommented on the League eonference, witnessing the swearing-in ceremony of former City Clerk Gayle Petersen as President of the City Clerk's Association of Cali fomi a, and voiced his support of yo lith participation in the future. D. Council Member Nardine commented on Proposition 49 and asked about the school district's position; she attended a discussion with youth of what they would like in allcrschool programming. E. Council Member Grant congratulated staff on the Earthquake Preparedness Workshop in September. F. Council Member Badger reported he had participated with Garfield School at the Coastal Clean Up and noted the lack of press coverage at the event. He reportcd on visiting senior centers during the League conference. G. Mayor Young noted it was a good idea to ViSit senior centers in other cities. Shc commented on the Lcague conference and the participation by members of thc City's commissions. She reported on a scssion pertaining to safety and security for City Council members. She had bcen asked to sit on a general resolution committee, which included discussion of greater local control over specd limits. She reported the collaboration event for San Leandro youth at the Boys' and Girls' Club on Saturday evening was a success. to.
