<br />MINUTES <br />~Ci!y of San Leandro City (:.?~nciVSan Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Mee~~.~]~:-No~.~_mber 18,2002 <br /> <br />Page 16 <br /> <br />C. Council Member Loeffler reported he has received a second complaint hom Alameda <br />County Environmental Health Services regarding smoking in public bars, and the lack of <br />enforcement by the Police Department. Council Member Loeffler passed on the report <br />from the County to the City Manager for follow-up with the Police Chief. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Santos stated he was pleased with Vice-Mayor Glaze's comments <br />regarding the Flood Control District, recalling the dissatisfaction with the District he has <br />expressed in the past. <br /> <br />Council Member Santos received a call /Tom a citizen who had great difficulty enrolling <br />in the paratransit program. The woman reported there is a 21-day wait and certain eriteIia <br />required to enroll in the program, and Council Member Santos expressed interest in <br />making it easier for seniors to use the paratransit program. <br /> <br />Council Mcmher Santos announced he will prepare a resolution and hring to the Council <br />for approval in February suggesting that the Oakland International Airp0l1 adopt a curfew. <br /> <br />E. Mayor Young announced the following: <br /> <br />· The City Council's regular mecting on December 2, 2002, will be cancelled, as many <br />members of the Council will be attending the National League of Cities meeting in <br />Salt Lake City. <br /> <br />. A special meeting of the City Council will he held on December 9, 2002, and regular <br />husiness will be conducted. <br /> <br />· At the City Council's regular meeting on Deccmher 16, 2002, the installation of new <br />Council Members will be conducted by Judge Peggy Hora. Council Member Loeffler <br />will make his final comments that evening. <br /> <br />· A "retirement" party for Council Member Loeffler is planned for December 17,2002, <br />at the Englander Pub. <br /> <br />. The Tree Lighting Ceremony and the "Miracle on East 14th Street" event will be held <br />on Decemher 13, 2002. <br /> <br />. On December 10, 2002, the Boards and Commissions celebration and the presentation <br />of the AlUllIal DistIict Leadership awards will be held. This year a second award from <br />the Mayor's Office will be presented for long-term husiness interests in the City of <br />San Leandro. <br />
