Mr. Woods questioned how the reported problems
can be directly connected with Freddie's Showcase.

Freddie Wright, the appellant, concurred with the statements made by her attorney, and
asked to be included in meetings the City conducts with the neighbors regarding their
concerns with her business.

Mayor Young announced that, due to the number of people wishing to speak on the
matter, the time would be limited to 3 minutes per person.

The Hearing was then opened to the public.

Michael Wallace, 450 Lewis Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding the many
problems experienced by the neighbors of Freddie's Showcase, including automobile and
pedestrian traffic, noise, litter, fights, sexual activity in cars, and dmg paraphernalia.

Adrianne Canfill, 445 Lewis Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding the ongoing
problems experienced by the neighbors surrounding Freddie's Showcase over the past
four years, and asked the Council to hold the owner of the business accountable for the
problems generated by her business.

Woody Square, 422 Lewis Avenue, addressed the City Council, noting the persistent
violations of the Deemed Approved ordinance due to patrons leaving the subject business.
Mr. Square strongly encouraged the Council to put controls in place to ensure the patrons
of the business act responsibly while in the neighborhood.

Brian Sandine, 416 Lewis Avenue, addressed the City Council, concurring with the
previous speakers regarding the problems emanating from Freddie's Showcase. Mr.
Sandine is the minister of the church at the comer of MacArthur and Lewis, and recounted
an incident on April 27, 2002 at 1: 15 a.m., in which a customer of Freddie's broke into his
house to escape an angry crowd after a fight at the bar, waking Mr. Sandinc and his wife
and frightening his young children. Mr. Sandine strongly urged the City Council to
uphold the ruling of the BZA.

Earle Shenk, 674 Victoria Court, addressed the City Council regarding his close
proximity to Ms. Wright's fonner business, Miss Kitty's Circle Club. Mr. Shenk recalled
the late night disturbances by patrons of the business, and has been made aware the
problem has moved to Ms. Wright's new business location by several residents attending
the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association meeting in August asking for the
Association's help. Mr. Shenk opined Ms. Wright should be allowed to run her business
without detriment to the neighborhood, and stated his support of the BZA's guidelines.
