<br />MINUTES <br />City of San 1;,~,aIldro City CouneiVSan Leandro Rcdcvelopmcnt Agency Joint Mceting-Novemher 18,2002 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Matt Crawford, 520 Lewis Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding the excessive <br />noise he has experienced from the patrons of Freddie's. <br /> <br />Madelyn Taylor, San Leandro Church of Christ, addressed the City Council, stating <br />she has been a member of the church for about 22 years, and related an incident one <br />evening when some very young children were playing unsupcrvised in the church parking <br />lot. Ms. Taylor urged the Council to uphold the decision of the BZA. <br /> <br />Deloit Hinton, San Leandro Church of Christ, addressed the City Council, stating he <br />has been a member of the church for over 20 years, and has been apprised of the problems <br />by Mr. Squarc and Mr. Sandine. Mr. Hinton requested the Council uphold the BZA's <br />decision. <br /> <br />Jan Blythe, San Leandro Church of Christ, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />comment made by Ms. Wright that she has not had the opportunity to participate in the <br />community discussions about the problems with her business, while neighbors and staff <br />have reported having discussions with Ms. Wright. Mr. Blythe asked the Council to <br />support the decision of the BZA. <br /> <br />Janis Stewart, Hayward, addressed the City Council, stating she is a fonner resident of <br />Lewis Avenue and still visits there frequently, but commented on the difficulty of <br />accessing Lewis Avenue due to cars blocking the entrance to the street. Ms. Stewart <br />asked the Council to uphold the decision ofthe BZA. <br /> <br />John Morton, Hayward, addressed the City Council, stating he owns rental property at <br />326 Hollister Court, and expressing concerns regarding the quality oflife in San Leandro. <br />Mr. Morton requested the Council uphold the decision of the BZA. <br /> <br />Nina Castle, San Leandro Church of Christ, addressed the City Council regarding her <br />firsthand accounts of excessive motorcycle and automobile noise, traffic and sexual <br />activity in cars. Ms. Castle urged the Council to uphold the decision ofthe BZA. <br /> <br />Peggy Felix, 431 Lewis Avenue, addressed the City Council, reiterating the concerns <br />cxpressed by other neighborhood residents, asking the Co unci I to consider the letters <br />written by the residents, and uphold the decision of the BZA. <br /> <br />Amy Morgan, San Leandro Church of Christ, addressed the City Council, agreeing <br />with the comments made by the neighbors and church members, noting that the noise <br />surrounding Freddie's is loud enough to interrupt their amplified singing practice, and the <br />loiterers outside are intimidating to passersby. Ms. Morgan urged the Council to uphold <br />the BZA's decision. <br /> <br />Danny Hinckley, 992 Dowling Boulevard, addressed the City Council, pointing out the <br />owner and patrons of the establishment do not live in the community, and expressing <br />resentment the problem is being portrayed as a neighborhood problem by Mr. Woods. <br />
