A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Linda Rosenthal (Complete Training <br />Management) for being named '"Rookie of the Year" by the San Leandro Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br />. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Mayor Emeritus Jack Maltester for <br />being awarded the '"Lee Bruner Lifetime Achievement Award" by the San Leandro <br />Chan1ber of Commerce. <br />. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Hanson Hon1 (City of San Leandro <br />Comlnunity Development Director) for being awarded the "Entrepreneurial Spirit <br />Award" by the San Leandro Chanlber of Commerce. <br />. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Carol Fahrbach (APM <br />Communications) for being nanled "Ambassador of the Year" by the San Leandro <br />Chan1ber of Commerce. <br />. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to Heidi Finberg (San Leandro Chamber <br />of Commerce CEO), for being named "Leadership San Leandro Alumni of the Year" <br />by the San Leandro Chanlber of Commerce. <br /> <br />A. Presentation of Mini-Guide to Health and Human Services. <br /> <br />(2024) <br /> <br />J o aim Oliver, Recreation and Human Services Manager, introduced Human Services <br />Commission Chair Joe FlYl1l1 and Past Chair Gerry Mellon and gave a brief history on the <br />development of the Mini -Guide. Commissioner Mellon thanked the Council for <br />providing funding to allow the guide to be translated into Spanish and listed SOlne of the <br />locations where the guides will be available to the public. <br /> <br />Councihnen1ber Grant comluented she gave a box of the Mini -Guides to the staff at <br />Long's Drug Store to place near the pharmacy, and the guides are almost all gone. <br /> <br />Councilmelnber Loeffler expressed his appreciation for this resource and thanked the <br />Commission for addressing the need in the community. He noted the guides are very <br />popular and are being rapidly disseminated throughout the community. <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine thanked the Commission, noting as a health care official she is <br />often asked for this type of information. She hoped the guides would be placed in the <br />school counseling offices so students might use them to help themselves and their <br />families. Commissioner Mellon informed the Council that the schools will receive a <br />supply of the guides. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person. When you address the City Council, <br />you should fill out a speaker card and subnlit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers <br />may be determined and an official record of names and addresses obtained. The public is <br />invited to make comments on Consent Calendar items, or other items of public interest not <br />listed on the Agenda, at this time. <br />
