<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and the <br />San Leandro Geologic Hazard Abatement District <br />Joint Meeting - March 19,2001 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A. Bob Battinich, 14349 Washington, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />Martinelli property. He stated his opposition to the taking of their property <br />through eminent domain. <br /> <br />B. Tom Spinardi, 601 Aladdin, addressed the City Council in opposition to eminent <br />domain proceedings for the Martinelli property. <br /> <br />C. Frank Garcia, 119 Preda Street, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />bankruptcy of a local nursing home and the relocation of senior citizens and <br />expressed opposition to the use of eminent domain. <br /> <br />5. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />1. Council Member Grant reported on her attendance at the Alameda County <br />Housing retreat, which focused on housing programs and setting of goals. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Santos reported on the recent East Bay Division of the <br />League of California Cities dinner noting that the Executive Director of the <br />League made a presentation on their new "Grass Roots" campaign. <br /> <br />3. Mayor Young reported on the AC Transit Major Investment Study indicating <br />the study is focusing more on enhanced busses. She also noted the new Transit <br />Development Plan is available from the Congestion Management Authority <br />(CMA). <br />
