Council Member Santos commented on a letter received from Jon Rogers
regarding airport matters. He also referenced an article regarding airport
expansion in the San Francisco Chronicle and one in the Daily Review.

B. Council Member Santos also commented on an article in the Daily Review
regarding power from wastewater treatment plants and indicated that the City
should take a look at our plant to see what we could possibly do about generating
power.

C. Council Member Loeffler commented on his reasons for rejecting the budget which
included the overtime issue; the CIF Budget (referencing monuments using park-
in-lieu funds); the cost of living adjustment component; and that there are no
performance standards in the budget. He stated that he feels there is no public
accountability for the cost of public buildings or the cost to the City for workers
compensation cases. He indicated he recognizes the budget is a work in progress,
but it should be a more readable document for the public to understand.

D. Vice Mayor Glaze complimented the landscape crews for their efforts along San
Leandro Boulevard.

E. Council Member Nardine thanked everyone for their concerns expressed regarding
her broken leg. She also thanked staff for
their efforts to assist her with mail & deliveries during this difficult time.

F. Council Member Grant commented on the Flag Day Ceremony at the library and
indicated staff should look into the possibility of posting signs at the entry to the
driveway directing people to the proper entrance into the parking lot and sign
standards inside the building to direct people to specific rooms.

G. Council Member Grant also noted the need to contact the person in charge of
operations at Macy's at the Bayfair Mall, indicating that their restrooms are in
serious need of attention.
