Matter of Armeal bv Amber and Gary Dhaliw:11 of the Board of Zonin2 <br />Adjustments' Denial ofPLN2001-00031; That the Expansion of the Hours of <br />Operation for a Legal, Nonconforming Use for Champagne Terrace Liquors Is Not <br />Permitted Under the San Leandro Zoning Code and That tbe Hours of Operations <br />for the Store Are Limited to 8:00 A.M to 8:00 PM; III I MacArthur Boulevard; <br />Assessor's Parcel Number 77-496-6; Gary and Amber Dhaliwal, Applicants and <br />Owners. <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, Planner <br />Debbie PoHart, gave the staff report <br /> <br />Bart Ingargiola, Representing the Appellant, addressed the City Council on <br />behalf of the Dhaliwals & Otterstetters. He went into detail regarding upgrades <br />that had been done to their business and noted they are asking for a change in <br />hours of operation in order to make additional money. <br /> <br />Amber Dhaliwal addressed the City Council and stated that they want to be able <br />to keep their store open a little later because they are losing quite a few customers <br />by closing at 8 p.m She noted they are requesting to be open until 9 p.m on <br />weekdays and 10 p.m. on weekends. <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Bill Bergstrom, 589 Diehl Avenue, addressed the City Council in support of the <br />Dhaliwal's business <br /> <br />Loren H. Bergstrom, 589 Diehl Avenue, addressed the City Council in support <br />of the Dhaliwal's business <br /> <br />Glenn .Jackson, 898 Rodney Drive, addressed the City Council in opposition to <br />the extension of hours at the Dhaliwal's business. <br /> <br />Luigi A. Tinonga, 880 Bridge Road, addressed the City Council in opposition to <br />the extension of hours of the store. <br />
