Francois Gallo, 979 Woodland, addressed the City Council in support of the <br />petition filed from the residents on Neptune Drive regarding noise from the <br />Oakland Airport He indicated the settlernent reached recently with the City of <br />Alameda does nothing to alleviate noise in their area. <br /> <br />E. W~lfaa Aborashed, 672 Tudor Road, addressed the City Council regarding <br />airport noise issues and stated she feels the City was in a hurry when they settled <br />their agreement with the Pori or Oakland She encouraged the City Council to <br />renegotiate the agreement if the opportunity presents itself <br /> <br />F. HIll-old Perez, 2052 Vestal COlll't, addressed the City Council regarding airport <br />noise and indicated his neighborhood is in need or assistance with clean-up effiJrts. <br /> <br />G.. Kathy Hanks, 964 Hutchings Ddve, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />Bayfair Mall area and indicated we are all a part of the same c0I111nunity and <br />should be concerned about possible blight throughout the community. <br /> <br />H. Mike Rawlis, %4 Hutchings Ddve, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />recent Job Fair held at the Oakland Coliseum and expressed his concerns that there <br />appeared to be a lack of job application opportunities for disabled individuals <br /> <br />L Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />Special Meeting or the Redevelopment held on November 13,200 I befc)[e the City <br />Council's normally scheduled Work Session and asked fllr clarification of the <br />addresses on Hudson Lane and Marina Blvd. that were discllssed. He also <br />questioned if there was a residential component included in the plan on Marina <br />Blvd. <br />J Jc....y Glass, 13170 Neptune Drivc, addressed the City Council regarding noise <br />from Oakland Airport He stated he felt the set tlement that was made with San <br />Leandro was not in the best interests of residents atfected and indicated they <br />should perhaps rorm their own group and proceed with a class action lawsuit again <br />the POli or Oakland <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />The City Manager remarked stafr would be bringing to Council a proposal for an <br />interim ordinance to establish a development strategy and implementation plan for East <br />14th Street in the near future. He indicated the proposal would allow the public an <br />oPPoliunity to address concerns regarding the Palma Plaza at that time lIe also <br />mentioned statf would be working with developers and owners of the fonner Ford site <br />to ensure the cleanup of that site. <br /> <br />With regard to concerns expressed aboul airport noise, the City Manager stressed the <br />City has not ignored the issue He indicated the Port of Oakland has treated City staff <br />much like they have treated the public on this issue lie continued by commenting that <br />
