Bo Johansen, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding a letter submitted by another resident conceming Item 3.A. which he ldt should have been read aloud to the public. Mr. Johansen comrnented that it has been 14 months since the completion of Walnut Drive, and the residents have not yet received written, detailed documentation ofthe construction data and costs. Darlene l<:vans, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressmg concem regarding the licensing requirements for peddlers with handcarts. Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting on the develop,nent of Eden Road and ongoing problems with his neighbor. 6. CITY MANAGl<:R AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS City Manager Jennanis addressed Mr. Henriques' comments, noting that the City Council is interested in maintaining civility. Regarding the concems about the lack of a grocery store on Davis Street, Mr. Jcnnanis commented on the difficulty for neighborhood grocery stores to compete with large chain b'Tocel)' stores. He noted that he and City Attomey Jayne Williams have discllssed with Mr. Filipovich the issues he raised in 2004. Regarding Mr. Johansen's con11nents, Mr. Jemlanis indicated that he would work with the Engineeling and Transportation Department to provide the requested infollnation to the residents. Mr. Jennanis commented that the Police Department checks peddlers to ensure they are licensed both by the City and the County Health Department. City Attomey Williams commented that she and City Manager Jennanis have mcl with Mr. Filipovich on several occasions and responded to his correspondence, advising him that his referendum is not properly formatted, 7. AMENDMF:NT OF CONSENT CALl<:NDAR City Councilmembers or stair have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special consideration. Members of the Public may request the opportunity to address the City Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar by filling out a speaker card and submitting it to the City Clerk prior to the calling of Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent Calendar will be considered for approval under one motion. Regarding Item 8.A., Vice Mayor Grant requested that the Council receive infoI111ation on the datcs and timcs for City Council Committee meetings.
