The <br />('ity Council has asked that the Municipal Code be strengthened to provide the Police <br />Department with greater enforcement capability ("or problems of this nature, <br /> <br />Current law only prohibits parking of non-motorized vehicles on City streets between the hours <br />of 2:00 a.m. and ():()() a.\11. Amendment of the code would prohibit this activity at any time, hut <br />would also provide residents the opportunity to obtain temporary exenlptions by the City, just as <br />is done with oversized recreation vehicles. <br /> <br />Another ("requent problem for neighborhoods is the parking of large commercial vehicles in <br />neighborhoods. I<:xamples would be school buses, tow trucks, delivery trucks, and other <br />comlllercial equipment not restricted by the City's truck route regulations. Arnendrnent of <br />Chapter (), Title 6 would prohibit the parking of a vehicle having more than two axles, or any <br />single conllllercial vehicle or combination 01' vehicles longer than 20' or wider than 7' and taller <br />than 1', or having a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or Illore in residential districts except <br />for reasonable periods of time (2 hours) as would be necessary for conducting of business in the <br />neighborhood. <br />
