Likewise, some people store large commercial vehicles on residential property in
view or neighboring homes. While it is o(tcn a violation or the City's truck route rcgulations to
drive such a vehicle on a residential street, enforcement can currently only occur when an officer
witnesses the vehicle being driven in violation of the truck route. The City Council has asked
that the Municipal Code be strengthened to provide the Police Depaliment with greater
enforcement capability for problems of this nature.

Amendment or Section 3-1-200(11) orthe Municipal Code would prohibit the parking of vehicles
which exceed twenty feet in length, seven feet in height, seven ket in width, or h,lving a gross
vehicle weight of 10,O()O pounds or more on any residential property. This amendment would
also allow enf<Jrcement or such violations whether visible rrom the street or ('rom adjacent
pri vate property.

An exemption to this prohibition would be recreational vehicles intended for habitation fiJr
camping or recreational purposes as defined by the California Vehicle Code (e.g. motorho!1les,
campers, travel trailers). However, such recreational vehicles would be limited to one being
stored on a residential property at any given time.

Current City Council Policy
Title 3, Chapter 3-[ urtbe San Leandro Municipal Code
