<br />M I N UTI<:S Page 6 <br />_City or San Leanuro City Council and San Leal1dly_~cucvdoprnellt Agency Jojl1_~~ccting-- January 16, 2007 <br /> <br />Lou FiJipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, providing a packet of <br />documents to the Council comprised of various self-authored documents and news articles <br />related to elections. <br /> <br />Bo ,Johansen, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding a letter <br />suhmitted hy another resident concerning Item 3.A. which he felt should have been read aloud <br />to the public. Mr. Johansen commented that it has been 14 months since the completion of <br />Walnut Drive, and the residents have not yet received written, detailed documentation of the <br />construction data and costs. <br /> <br />Darlene Evans, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expresslllg concern <br />regarding the licensing requirements for peddlers with handcaIis. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting on the <br />development of Eden Road and ongoing problems with his neighhor. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jemlanis addressed Mr. Henriques' comments, noting that the City Council is <br />interested in maintaining civility. Regarding the concerns about the lack of a grocery store on <br />Davis Street, Mr. Jermanis commented on the difficulty for neighborhood grocery stores to <br />cOlnpete with large chain grocery stores. He noted that he and City Attomey Jayne Williams <br />have discussed with Mr. Filipovich the issues he raised in 2004. Regarding Mr. Johansen's <br />comments, Mr. Jenmmis indicated that he would work with the Engineering and <br />Transportation Department to provide the requested infon11ation to the residents. Mr. <br />.r ennanis cOlllmented that the Police Department checks peddlers to ensure they are licensed <br />both by the City and the County Health Department. <br /> <br />City Attomey Williams commented that she and City Manager Jermanis have met with Mr. <br />Filipovich on several occasions and responded to his correspondence, advising him that his <br />referendum is not properly formatted. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmemhers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Memhers of the Public may request the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar by filling out a speaker carcl and <br />submitting it to the City Clerk prior to the calling of Item 7, Amendment or Consent <br />Calendar. Items rernaining on the Consent Calendar will he considered lor approval under <br />one motion. <br /> <br />Regarding Item g.A., Vice Mayor Grant requested that the Council receive in[onnation on the <br />dates and times for City Council Committee meetings. <br />
