<br />CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />APPROVED AND <br />FORWARDED <br />TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />John Jermanis, City Manager <br /> <br /> <br />crf <br />JohnL Jennanis <br />City~ anager <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />March 19,2007 <br /> <br />FROM: Uchenna Udemezue, Director <br />Engineering and Transportation epartment <br /> <br />BY: Kenneth Joseph, City Engineer ~ <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRI~N: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br />KENNEDY/JENKS CONSULTANTS RELATING TO THE WATER POLLUTION <br />CONTROL PLANT (WPCP) EFFLUENT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 593-52-219 <br /> <br />The work provides construction support services for construction of the pump house and <br />disinfection system at Monarch Bay Golf Course for the Effluent Irrigation Project. <br /> <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of a contractual services agreement with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br />in the amount of $66,000 for the subject project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On May 1,2006, the City entered into a contractual services agreement with Kennedy/Jenks to <br />design treatment and distribution facilities that will supply 300-acre feet of recycled water per <br />year to the Golf Course. On December 18, 2006, the construction contract was awarded to JMB <br />Construction, Inc. <br /> <br />Analysis <br /> <br />Kennedy/J enks Consultants was selected for construction support services based on being the <br />engineer of record on the current design and its previous knowledge and expertise concerning the <br />Water Pollution Control Plant and in constructing facilities of this type. <br /> <br />Kennedy/Jenks Consultants scope of work during construction will involve responding to <br />requests for information (RFI's), reviewing submittals, conducting periodic site visits, providing <br />start-up engineering support, conducting geotechnical site observations and preparing record <br />drawings. <br /> <br />Current City Council Policy <br /> <br />Not Applicable <br />
