<br />MINUTES Page 12 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-March 5, 2007 <br /> <br />the settlement would be $380,000, which includes money that the City has held in <br />retention for liquidated damage claims. The total project amount is $982,371, which is <br />within the estimated project cost. A copy of the settlement agreement will be filed with <br />the City Clerk. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that the Congestion Management Agency (CMA) <br />will hold its annual retreat on Friday. She reported that the funding for the 1-880 project <br />from 98th Avenue to Marina Boulevard has now been included in the State's Congestion <br />Management Improvement Authority. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos reported on the EBDA Personnel Committee and ongoing issues. <br /> <br />B. Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br /> <br />Councilmember ProIa reported that he attended a seminar in San Francisco on aircraft <br />noise. He indicated that he found the subject difficult due to the large number of <br />acronyms used. Additionally, the speakers did not express much sympathy for the <br />citizens. Councilmember ProIa thanked the City for sending him to the seminar. <br /> <br />C. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Business and Housing Development Committee Meeting of February 8, 2007. <br />Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />2. Finance Committee Meeting of February 7,2007. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos commented regarding the Finance Committee's discussion on the <br />living wage issue. He indicated that he has been in contact with the local non- <br />profit agencies, such as the Davis Street Family Resource Center, and they <br />generally support a living wage ordinance for San Leandro. Mayor Santos <br />commented on the difference between living wage and prevailing wage. He asked <br />the Committee to consider increasing the proposed living wage. <br /> <br />Councilmember ProIa also commented on the living wage issue. He noted that, <br />prior to being appointed to the City Council, he presented a draft living wage <br />ordinance to the City Council. Councilmember ProIa expressed hope that the <br />draft ordinance would be the model from which the City patterns its living wage <br />ordinance, and that San Leandro's living wage would be at or near the top oflocal <br />cities. <br /> <br />As chair of the Finance Committee, Councilmember Stephens stated that the <br />comments were well received.
