<br />MINUTES Page 5 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-March 5, 2007 <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, and without objection, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant commented that while CDBG funding plays a major role in helping <br />to provide additional City services, it has been traditionally based upon census tract data <br />and community makeup. She noted that in a community as ethnically and economically <br />diverse as San Leandro it is harder to justify the need for funding for important <br />programs, while at the same time it results in a more cohesive community. <br /> <br />. Minute Order No. 2007-021, Motion Directing Staff to Publish the 2007-2008 <br />Annual Action Plan for a 30-Day Comment Period (March 14-ApriI16, 2007) and <br />to Set a Public Hearing for April 16, 2007 to Consider Final Approval of the <br />2007-2008 Annual Action Plan. (2096) <br /> <br />The City Council directed staff to publish the 2007-2008 Annual Action Plan <br />for a 30-day comment period (March 14-April16, 2007) and to set a public <br />hearing for April 16, 2007 to consider [mal approval of the 2007-2008 Annual <br />Action Plan. <br /> <br />M/S/C Grant and Starosciak. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Joyce Johansen, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council in support of the <br />dredging ofthe Marina and for finding the necessary funding to accomplish it. <br /> <br />Bo Johansen, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, welcoming new District 6 <br />Councilmember Jim ProIa. Mr. Johansen spoke regarding the Marina as an important part of <br />the City's infrastructure and the need to make it a priority over cosmetic improvements. <br /> <br />Gary Mortara, pastor of Faith Fellowship, addressed the City Council, commenting on <br />Faith Fellowship's application for rezoning of property on Doolittle and expressing frustration <br />over perceived delays in the public hearing process. <br />
