CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis reported that the City Council has not made any determination on the <br />fate of the San Leandro Marina, and members of the Council will request federal assistance <br />for dredging while in Washington, D.C. later this month. Mayor Santos has requested that the <br />Marina Committee be made a standing committee, and Mayor Santos and Councilmembers <br />Starosciak and ProIa will serve on the committee. Mr. Jermanis indicated that the Committee <br />would be meeting soon to hear the financial impacts of dredging and boating activity at the <br />Marina, and there will opportunity for the public to participate in the discussions. <br /> <br />Regarding Faith Fellowship Church, Mr. Jermanis commented that the City helped the <br />Church with its present location on Manor Boulevard. He indicated that he met with Pastor <br />Mortara and Mr. Bullok and explained to them that the Catalina property was not zoned for <br />assembly use. Mr. Jermanis noted that staff, the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning <br />Adjustments are reviewing the application, and a recommendation will be coming to the City <br />Council soon regarding the overlay district that would allow additional properties to be <br />designated for assembly use. He commented that the City has tried to be responsive to the <br />many letters, emails and personal visits in support ofthe Faith Fellowship application. <br /> <br />Regarding Mr. Perez's comments, Mr. Jermanis commented that the demolition of his <br />neighbor's garage would require a demolition permit, and a building permit would be <br />required to reconstruct it. He indicated that the City's Building Regulations Division would <br />look into the matter. <br /> <br />Mr. J ermanis commented on the positive relationship between the City and San Leandro <br />Unified School District. Mr. Jermanis noted that he and all members of the Council <br />supported the School Board's school bond measure, Measure B. He stated that the letters <br />from members of the Council regarding the use of the Measure B funds do not indicate a lack <br />of support for the School District or the School Board. Mr. Jermanis commented that the <br />Council and School Board meet on a regular basis and will have an opportunity to discuss <br />how the funds will be spent and how the spending will be monitored. He indicated that City <br />staff will also participate in reviewing the various Measure B programs and will report to the <br />Council. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmembers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar by filling out a speaker card and <br />submitting it to the City Clerk prior to the calling of Item 7, Amendment of Consent <br />Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent Calendar will be considered for approval under <br />one motion. <br /> <br />No amendment to Consent Calendar. <br />
