<br />PLN2006-00075 <br />Amendments to Zoning Map <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />April 2, 2007 <br /> <br />Board/Commission Findines <br />The Planning Commission reviewed a summary of the proposed ordinance and held a public <br />hearing at its February 22,2007 meeting. The Planning Commission forwarded a recommendation <br />of approval, with a vote of 7 -0, of the proposed map amendment to City Council. Minutes from <br />the Planning Commission meeting are included as an attachment. The City of San <br />Leandro/Alameda County Joint Area Redevelopment Advisory Committee reviewed the matter at <br />its January 17, 2007, meeting and was supportive of the rezone. <br /> <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />Legal advertisements were placed in the Daily Review newspaper for the April 2, 2007, City <br />Council meeting and the February 22,2007, Planning Commission meeting. In addition, notices <br />were placed on light poles and were sent to the affected property owners and all businesses and <br />property owners within three hundred feet oithe subject sites. <br /> <br />As of the writing of this report, two comments were received by phone by residents of Cherry Street <br />that expressed concern over the possible future proposal for an auto repair business on the comer of <br />Cherry Street and Hudson Lane. One of the residents submitted a written comment, which <br />expressed similar concerns and was presented to the Planning Commission on the night of February <br />22, 2007. Correspondence <br /> <br />CONCLUSION <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and staff recommend that the City Council hold a public hearing and <br />adopt the Negative Declaration and adopt the proposed Zoning Map amendments for the <br />properties to CC Commercial Community. <br />
