Excerptfrom February 8,2007 Business & Housing Development Subcommittee
Page 1 of 1 .

A TT ACHMENT G

Overview of Pending Development Applications

Modification of Bayside Business Park PD for outdoor storage

Planning Manager Debbie Pollart stated that in 2002 the City Council approved a
Planned Development (PD) for the creation of the Bayside Business Park. National
Construction Rentals is proposing to modify this PD in order to allow outdoor storage
facilities and construct a 5,000 square foot office building and a 13,000 square foot
mechanical building. Pollart explained that the primary use of the facility would be
the storage of temporary construction buildings, storage containers, temporary power
supply, fencing, portable toilets and other construction site needs. The site would be
extensively landscaped and all storage would be screened from the street.

An extensive conversation ensued among the Committee members regarding the
impacts of the proposed use on the Water Pollution Control Plant, the height which
the portable bathrooms could be stacked, and the traffic impacts of the project on
Davis Street. Pollart explained the operation in greater detail and described how the
proposal addressed the issues.

Councilmember Stephens stated that the project was unfair to the people who bought
into the Bayside project with the idea that it was going to be a business park, not a
storage area.
