The City has <br />elected to use a California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) listing to purchase 'Pieldturf' <br />brand synthetic turf directly from the manufacturer. Staff believes this approach will provide <br />savings and control quality of the final product. <br /> <br />Analvsis <br /> <br />The bids were opened on April 9, 2007. Six bids were received ranging from $1,231,405.10 to <br />$1,529,149.95. American Civil Constructors, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder with a bid of <br />$1,231,405.10. On April 28, 2004 at the Joint City Council and SLUSD Board of Trustees meeting, the City <br />Council directed staff to work with the SLUSD to determine if the BMS field was a potential <br />joint use project <br />. At the September 28, 2004 Joint City Council and SLUSD Board of Trustees meeting, staff <br />was directed to continue to work with the SLUSD to jointly submit a grant application <br />. On November 1, 2004 by Resolution No. 2004-163, the City Council approved an MOU with <br />the SLUSD <br />. On June 19,2006 by Resolution No. 2006-069, the City Council approved an agreement with <br />the SLUSD to renovate the BMS field and play area <br />. On November 20, 2006, by Resolution 2006-126, the City Council approved a contract <br />services agreement with Harris Design for the preparation of construction documents <br />.
