<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />This contract is to provide professional services to the City with design, bidding, and <br />construction administration for the Roof Repair and Replacement Project. The scope for this <br />project includes the repair of two (2) roofs on buildings owned by the City 1) The Public Safety <br />Building roof 2) Marina Community Center (MCC) roof area A, B, C, D, E, and Tile Roof. The <br />following is a detailed breakdown of services included in this contract: <br /> <br />Design/Deliverables <br />1. Two design field inspections of the site in order to verify construction and conditions. <br />2. Review plans of existing buildings supplied by the City if available. (City to overnight a <br />copied set ofthe plans to the designer). <br />3. One meeting with City to discuss the findings ofthe field inspection and advise the City <br />of recommendations and finalize scope. <br />4. Non-proprietarv design specifications suitable for public bidding, CSI format. <br />a. Up to 2 copies of written draft specifications for review. <br />b. Up to 2 revisions of written specifications based on City recommendations. <br />c. One final copy of written specifications in 2003 Microsoft Word Software. <br />5. CAD drawing of the overall roofs. Detail AutoCAD drawings showing the various <br />details on the roof. <br />a. Up to 2 sets of drawings forreview. <br />b. Up to 2 revisions of the drawings based on City recommendations. <br />c. One final set of written drawings on Architectural size D paper, 24" x 36". <br />Drawings shall be on City's title block. Final draft on vellum and CD. <br />6. Engineer's cost estimate at each level of design completion. <br />7. Coordinate and modify plans with the City of San Leandro Building Department as <br />necessary to obtain building permit. <br />8. Review of City's front end documents. <br />9. The roofs shall be tested for asbestos. Two samples per roof area shall be taken, one in <br />the base flashing and one in the roof membrane. This service includes the following: <br />a. Removal of sample from site. <br />b. Repair of sample test area. <br />c. Submission of samples to a certified asbestos testing laboratory. <br />d.
