Thus,
for all practical purposes we will have 23 3-story homes as a major
feature in an otherwise single, detached home community. Why was the
developer not told to go back and re-draw or rebuild? Are these new
homes away from your neighborhood and so you don't care about setting
a precident for 3
stories?

Landscaping Exception: A wall will be built right up to the sidewalk in
this
area; we can't build walls like that near the sidewalks in front of our
houses.

Parking and Vehicular Safety: This issue should not be underestimated.
The 23 units and the 10 units within a two-block walk on Mac Arthur will
have an impact far beyond the 300 foot radius. Someone must have been
smoking
something to think that in homes like these wlo much inside storage,
people
will be parking (tandem of course!) in their garages. Not all garages
are 2
car. Even counting public parking (16 spaces) against the private
parking
requirements (garages + 6), an variance is still needed. For cars parked
on the
street, there are frequent anecdotal reports of cars on Henna and
Victoria (and
probably Broadmoor) getting hit by persons going too fast down those
narrow
streets or misjudging when turning those comers. With the spate of
robberies
in the Broadmoor, the difficulty in discerning who has legitimate
business in
our neighborhood will increase.

Health and Privacy Issues: There is scientific evidence that when young
children play on pavement as opposed to green areas, they are more likely
to
develop asthma because their immune systems don't get enough exposure
to
dirt.
There is very little green in this development which has been set up for
23
units, and what designated as the green area is is unacceptably close to
the
homes on each side of this very narrow space. The lot is so narrow as to
make smoking minimally 20 feet from a
door or

Page 2 of3
