Alameda
County is responsible for submitting an annual program of projects that are initiated by each city
in the county.

Annually, the City applies for TDA grant funds from the MTC for pedestrian improvements
throughout the city. The TDA grant funds are distributed by population. The City is entitled to
$76,537 for this next fiscal year. These funds will be used to install the following: handicap
ramps, sidewalk bulb-outs, pedestrian safety signage, accessible pedestrian traffic signals, and
lighted crosswalks at various locations citywide. Grant funds will be used to finance the
improvements prior to receipt of the TDA funds. The grant fund account will be reimbursed by
the funds received from the TDA grant.
